Oil is trading near a 2-month high
On Friday, Brent crude oil mostly rose from 77.25 to 81.00, but closed trading near the price of 80.06. Today, oil began trading in the range of 81.00-65, reaching a 2-month high. On the hourly chart, Brent is trading above the MA (200) H1 moving average line (75.50) and above MA (200) H4 (74.20) on the four-hour chart. Based on the above, it is probably worth sticking to the northern direction in trading and as long as Brent remains above the MA 200 H1, it is necessary to look for entry points to buy.
However, it is worth noting that the 14-day relative strength index (RSI (14) on D1) is above the 70 level, which signals a possible change in the direction of price movement.
Resistance levels are at: 81.65-80, 82.85, 83.60
Support levels are at: 81.00, 78.15, 77.23
The main scenario for the pair's advance implies a breakout of the support 81.65-80 (Aug 14-15 and Oct 7 high) and there may be an increase to 82.85 (Aug 12’ 2024 high)
An alternative scenario suggests a breakout of the support 81.00 (Jan 10 high, session low) followed by a likely decline to 78.15 (Jan 8 high)
