Shares become cheaper on Wall Street: [E]

Shares continued falling on Wall Street on Tuesday after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke showed concerns about inflation situation in the country. After more than 2 hours after the bell, Dow (-0.8%) fell below psychologically important mark 11,000. Last time the index was below this benchmark March 9.

Standard & Poor's 500 -0.5% and Nasdaq composite -0.84%. All of these three indexes opened positive, but later fell under zero benchmark. Stock market appeared under the pressure on Monday after Ben Bernanke declared that the Central Bank will continue to struggle with inflation even if the growth of economy will slowdown. Issue of economic data wasn’t planed for today.

The basic attention of investors concentrated on performances of Fed members. There are Alcoa and Boeing shares appeared under the pressure among Dow components, however Coca Cola and Kimberly Clark shares increased. Shares of building sector were also under the pressure, subject to influence of interest rates : Home Construction index fell 3.4%, continuing 5% falling on Monday. Hewlett-Packard reconsidered the forecast about profit for the second quarter with increase for all financial year, however company’s stocks continued to decrease. IBM shares increased on 1% after company declared about intention to invest in India near $6 billion during for current 3 years. Shares of auto-giant General Motors fell after executive director of company Rick Wagoner declared to shareholders that the company will have problems at achievement purpose of reduction expenses on $1 billion in current year. Oil prices decrease approximately on $1 dollar, finished 2-days growth of quotations. July futures on WTI decreased on 85 cents to $71.75 per barrel.
