Main indexes during the day traded in narrow ranges near opening levels. Bears and bulls didn’t show a serious activity.

Today Fed report testified industrial production in June unexpectedly increased 0.8%, after strengthen 0.1% in May and capacity utilization reached the most for 6 years and made 82.4%. As a result speculations on Fed may continue interest rate gain strengthened.

Expectations of PPI and CPI inflation data didn’t cause confidence.

Besides, investors worried about situation in the Middle East.

Corporate reports were ambiguous.

Citigroup highlighted company’s profit $1.05 per share. It is 1% below forecasts.

McDonald's informs it expects preliminary profit growth in Q2.

Apple Computer, Inc. benefited from Piper Jaffray analyst's expectations the company to beat earnings estimates for Q3.

General Motors Corporation within 90 days will study through all advantages of possible alliance with Renault and Nissan.
