EURJPY: Cross Remains Bullish, But Bearish Pressure Rises
The EURJPY cross is now fighting for the first major support of the bullish trend line, which is around 130.15, where Friday's lows are also located. Bulls need to defend this zone if they want to attack previous highs.
However, if the bearish pressure will rise further, the Euro could deteriorate toward previous highs at 129.80 and this is the major support for the next days. If the cross drops below this, the upward momentum would most likely end, signaling a consolidation, or a possible bearish wave.
The cross is currently consolidating and volatility has been low in this phase. If the price jumps beyond the current tops of 130.40, the upside movement could be confirmed, targeting the next resistance of 130.80, where lows of the previous consolidation period are located.
The current cycle highs are at the strong level of 131 and it appears that bulls would need some very good fundamental news to breach this level. For now, the overall trend looks bullish as long as the pair respectively remains above 130.15 or 129.80. However, if the EURJPY cross declines below these levels, this would no longer be the case.
